External Display

Opens from the external display button in the cue view's transport.

Open on External Display

Mac and Stage Manager iPads: a second window opens; drag it to the external display and use its window controls to go full screen. Mirroring iPads: the external picture appears on its own as soon as HDMI is connected, and this switch reflects it.

Mode

  • Scoring Video: the package's video.
  • Video + Overlay: streamers and counter on top.
  • Overlay Only: streamers and counter on black, when the video comes from another source.

Show Bar Counter

Hide or show the counter on the external picture. Streamers and beat dots stay. The conductor's own display is unaffected.

Fill Screen

Scale the video to fill the external window. If the aspect ratios differ the edges are cropped. Off keeps the full frame with letterbox bars.

House Latency

Projectors and PAs add delay between playback and what the audience sees and hears. The external picture runs ahead by this many milliseconds. Positive values delay the conductor's overlay so the audience stays in sync; negative values compensate for a display that runs ahead. The frame estimate follows the loaded cue's frame rate.

Audio uses House Latency

On, the External mix runs on the same offset as the picture. Off, an Audio Latency stepper gives the sound its own offset, for when picture and sound take different paths.

Audio Output

The External mix's device, where the device offers more than one. Flip a Click or FOH strip to External to set its fader, mute, pan and pair. The external click starts muted.

Not available

An iPad without an M-series chip, and every iPhone, mirrors its own screen and cannot show a separate audience feed. Playback, click, stems and sync work normally.
