Words we use

Cue : One piece of music as a package: MIDI tempo map, stems, click, scoring video, score and parts, and the conductor events that draw the streamers. Files end in .conductpkg.

Program : An evening's cues on one timeline against a single film. The program opens each cue as the clock reaches it. See Film in concert.

Stand : Any device that follows a master: a player's iPad or iPhone, the podium following a DAW, a counter in the tracking room.

Master : The device or session that owns the clock. A podium with Conduct (Broadcast) on, a DAW with the Link plug-in, or a program running on This device.

Link : CueConductor's own sync. The Link plug-in in a DAW, or a conducting device, streams the transport to every stand over Wi-Fi or a USB cable. Sample-accurate, no MIDI.

MTC : MIDI Time Code. The older way to follow QLab, show-control rigs or a DAW without the Link plug-in.

Streamer : The bar that travels across the picture and lands on a beat. Yellow and white for prep clicks, green for the start of music, red for the end, plus whatever the cue's author wrote.

Punch : The flash a landing streamer makes.

Click : The metronome track in the cue, on its own fader and output pair.

FOH mix : Front of house. The stems summed on one fader, with its own output pair, for the hall or the conductor's other ear.

Conductor and External mixes : Two complete mixes. Conductor plays on the podium with no delay. External plays to the hall or projector with the house latency applied, so picture and sound reach the audience together.

House latency : The delay a projector or PA adds. Set once in External Display; the external picture and mix run early by that much.

Lite cue / pushed cue : The copy a master sends to stands that do not have the cue: MIDI map, overlay, score and parts, mono click. No stems, no video.

Catalog : The list of cues and programs from Vision Music Publishing inside the app, some free, some unlocked with a PIN.

CueBuilder™ : The tool inside the app that turns MIDI, stems, PDFs and video into a cue.

TempoMapper™ : The tool that builds a tempo map against real audio for music recorded without a click.
